Sorry, but I don’t hate Vista. The security protocols are a pain in the butt, and it won’t let me write to my Win XP drive, but it seems to run better than XP on my old piece of junk. It’s hard to overcome hurdles when you expect things to not work well.

LOL  The teacher was trying to paint a nice picture on a garbage can.  I don't hate Vista either.  I just don't like it at all because it does nothing to improve the environment.  M$ seems to not understand what pisses people off, so they seem to be making things worse with each new OS release.  I don't think they will ever get it either...

Actually that was my brother. He convinced mom that it was her inabilities to use vista rather than vista causing problems with her email. So she unhooked internet after being frustrated too long. Since I had so many problems with vista I can see how it could screw her email up, but brother is stubborn and likes to think vista is a great os. It just goes to show how little he knows about vista.

A well designed OS should be one that doesn't constantly bother you.  It should be a tool that allows you to do other things.  It should not be an object that you have to devote a lot of time to keep it working.  You should not have to be an expert to run a well designed OS.  Both Vista and W7 fail those standards...

The thing is after spending a lot of time configuring things, it has a way to either reverse the changes, ignore the changes, or something else won't work so you have to reverse it anyway. Like the copying of large files when moved, you can turn it off but it still made duplicate copies resulting in my pc crashing with hd being full.
