I don't recall changing anything and have been through all the options and cannot fix this problem.
I'm not staying logged in anywhere close the browser and I'm logged out.
If I start to type my name then it pops up and the password fills in so that part is fine I just get logged out of a site when I close the browser.
I checked with IE when I close the browser and come back later I'm still logged in so I'm sure it is just a Firefox problem.
Any ideas? |

I'm just guessing, but are there any settings in Firefox that clear the cache and/or cookies when you open or close the app???

It even has accept third party cookies and keep them till they expire.
In the cookies stored on your computer 4fxearth is there and it is not over in the blocked list. but I have to log in every time I come here.
I haven't tried clearing the cache maybe it's corrupted. |

Yes, you can try that and see what happens...

Hummm. I had checked cookies while your site was open and yours and others were there but after shutting down all windows, I brought up the browser (always open to blank page) and then looked at cookies and there was nothing there so it IS clearing them when the window closes.
BUT It is suppose to keep the cookies till they expire according to the box checked. |

There might be a bug in the Firefox code. Didn't you used to use Opera? I don't have that problem in Opera unless Windows crashes it and I have to open it again. Then for some strange reason, I always have to login to everything again. My guess is that when the app crashes, a lot of the cookie files are corrupted by not being closed properly...

The firefox upgrade was several weeks ago and all went fine.
Just thought of something, I have been trying a program called finjan which has been working fine but now that I think on it I upgraded it a couple days ago and IE crashed a few times then straightened out. Maybe it's not crashing FF but messing with the cookies.
I'll take that program out and see what happens. |

I've never heard of finjan. I hope removing it corrects your problem. I've got my fingers crossed...

I figured out that I had updated Finjan in IE but not in FF.
I took the program out totally in both browsers but it didn't fix the problem.
Finjan is a browser add on that green checks links that it deems safe and red x's links that it deems unsafe.
All the green check marks were distracting on a page like Face Book so I had it set to show only red's
I liked the little program. I had not clicked on a link that took me to a bad site since I had started using it.
It doesn't use a database like most of those programs do.
Oh well it's late, for now I'll just hope the mystery clears its self up soon.
Going to watch some Africam before I doze off. |
