And the email post is blank when I look at it in Thunderbird... some of the tests were blank, some had text. I had to look at source code to see the messages. The blank emails were the ones with HTML; the plain text emails (which, btw, did not say text/plain etc. in the header) showed up fine.
Do you think this is some setting in my Thunderbird? Or the way that the MOD codes emails? The plain text portion of the HTML emails included some HTML; dunno if that's what's confusingThunderbird, though. |

Since Mail 2 Forum is still Beta software, I'm not surprised that we might see some problems with it. I read in one of the forums that Thunderbird doesn't handle some of the posts very well, so your experience doesn't surprise me...
If you can, try sending and receiving email to/from the forums using Mozilla, Opera, Eudora, or god forbid OE and see if it behaves any better. It would be interesting to hear your results. I am going to experiment a bit too. I'm confident that a patch for the Thunderbird problem is just around the corner. This MOD was HUGE so it is clear that this developer has spent a tremendous amount of time on it. I have no doubt that he will continue to improve it...
I would like the received emails to show who you are responding to. From what I can see, you have no idea who made the posts. When this MOD is working correctly, you should be able to read and respond to posts completely through your email client without ever opening your browser. I have no idea when that would be a necessity, but it is nice that we have the ability to do it now, except of course for some of the emails in Thunderbird...
I will keep you updated as I add patches to the software...

Let me try responding via Thunderbird. I think this should go through as
plain text, I'll tell it to write this as plain text. I can't see the
post at all right now, it's blank. I did read it in source code, though.
I may try using another email client, maybe... I'm a lazy bum, though. I
think I have only Mozilla and Thunderbird set up at the moment.
Is there any way to unsubscribe from the email MOD? I'm not getting a
digest, but the individual emails for every post in Test, Bugs and IMO.
As long as I can't read 'em except in source, I don't really want to get
'em.

I can read your Forum email in both Thunderbird and Eudora when you send it
in Text format. It appears that the HTML option in M2F needs more work
before it is ready for primetime. To unsubscribe to the M2F forums, you
can click on the M2F menu item in the header of each page and press the
Unsubscribe button next to each forum...
I will let you know when the HTML functionality has been improved and
works. This is a nice MOD and I have no doubt that the developer will
continue to improve it quickly...

Replying at the bottom here. Yay, the plain text M2F works fine! I hope
the developer can fix the HTML part pretty quickly. Meanwhile, I'll go
unsubscribe. Thanks, NR!

Wow, way too many extra blank lines when I reply in Thunderbird! Sorry about that, I'll try to remember to fix it or delete what I'm replying to whenever I use email. |

I noticed that too. That seems to be another small bug in M2F. You can
clean up the post if you want, but it really isn't necessary. I think you
should leave it as it is so people can see what happened when including a
prior response for the second time in a post using the email option...
