You know what, Katy?   I think Catmando used this program when he got his new PC.  I couldn't swear to it but I don't think it worked all too well for him.  I hope he comes in on this discussion and lets us know.

BTW, Katy, be careful  how you answer Nightrider.  If you're not careful he will have you BUILDING your own PC from scratch!   Oh man!   My head is still spinning from that experience.

But you know what?  I wouldn't have missed it for the world!!   I'm so proud of what I have done.

With Nightrider's help of course.  Wasn't easy considering the fact he is in Florida and I'm in Texas.  LOL   Isn't the internet wonderful??

Yes. Please let us know. NR has built many computers. He will be able to give you good advices and I feel that I have a few things to contribute with too. And I am absolutely sure that the same goes for RB! Very Happy

Her link does not ring a bell, so I would have to say that I most likely never tired that program.

I just got a new PC last Christmas. Loaded . HP. I kept my Lexmark 3in 1 printer. And i gave the old PC to my youngest GC. along with the new printer.I Used this program with success. But ofcourse i can't guarantee it for anyone else. I have no trouble with my PC. I just love it. But maybe some of you do things on your machine that I don't. I am actually a recreational user: Music,  Digital photography, DVDs, .... well, you get the idea. I am loaded with memory and considering I'm on Dial Up, it runs fairly quickly. I'm hoping I will soon be able to work a faster OS into my budget.

It might be convenient to move all my programs to a new 'puter, but so far I've re-installed them every time. Hasn't been too much of a hassle re-doing all my customizations, and sometimes I've changed those from one system to another.

RB, I built this 'puter a year ago. My husband helped, though, with everything that required both hands. It's quite a "learning experience" sometimes... like when the motherboard manual says one thing and the installation sheet says another. Wink

Yeah, lots of memory is GOOD -- I have 2 G on this system. Did you mean to say you hope to get faster Internet access, rather than a faster OS? WinXP is pretty fast, much better than my old Win98 IMO, though Linux might be even faster. Cable modem FLIES, compared to dial-up.
