Mine too. I know to enable NAT on my router and modem. That's your actual hardware firewall, if I'm not mistaken. I don't know how much good that does though. There's no way I know of to hide from your ISP, if it's Dick Cheney you're afraid of. Hackers though, NAT might slow down just enough so that they go on to easier pickins'.

I would not want even my modem's IP showing on the forum or anywhere else if I could help it. All this info gathering is just way too icky! Don't you think so? You can really get yourself worked up!

DoubleClick sold to Google for $3.1 billion cash.

Cash, huh. Wonder why the doubleclick guys would want cash? You think they might know something that we don't?

Yes a person can go crazy worrying about it and some website try to help the panic and offer cloaking and the like. Like that googerler site, they are in it for their own benefit only and try to cause a panic with that movie.

BTW, that bg research group did except me. They really screen people.

Just one more thing, IP give areas where people are from, so if you have a lunitic or someone threatens you, you can know if they live nearby. Therefor, ip should be displayed or given upon request. Its just silly to worry about IPs unless you really have something to hide. Thats my thoughts on it. Some people have bones in closets.

Fishead, some folks just like protecting their privacy... The more threatening of the two is the person insisting on the info
