ONE. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.
Only once. Then move on to another person.
TWO. Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other.
It depends. If it is something I am interested in then that's fine. Otherwise shhhhhh.
THREE. Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want.
That's me
FOUR. When you say, 'I love you ,' mean it.
And when I say, "I hate you," I mean it too.
FIVE. When you say, 'I'm sorry,' look the person in the eye.
No,I am not looking in the eye. I may have to say sorry many times over.
SIX. Be engaged at least six months before you get married.
Hmmmm 4th round? Nah I like my freedom. I find marriage too confining, very routine, monotonous and boring.
SEVEN. Believe in love at first sight.
Thank God it's not true or my life would have been a real bitch.
EIGHT. Never laugh at anyone's dream. People who don't have dreams don't have much.
I agree
NINE. Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely.
Disagree. Love is a hurtful thing. Caring is not.
TEN.. In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling.
Name calling can be quite interesting. That's when the dishes starts flying. Yup no name calling unless you are playing.
ELEVEN. Don't judge people by their relatives.
I disagree. They are cut from the same cloth one way or the other as I would be to mine.
TWELVE. Talk slowly but think quickly.
Not always. I hate to make people wait.
THIRTEEN. When someone asks you a question you don't want to answer, smile and ask, 'Why do you want to know?'
I say, "None of your business unless I am compensated or you're willing to take a chance of being sued"
FOURTEEN. Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk.
Always
FIFTEEN. Say 'bless you' when you hear someone sneeze.
Yup
SIXTEEN. When you lose, don't lose the lesson !
Short term memory
SEVENTEEN. Remember the three R's: Respect for self; Respect for others; and responsibility for all your actions.
When I am being selfish, self-centered etc., sometimes I do not care.
EIGHTEEN. Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship.
It does sometimes. And usually it takes time before I feel better.
NINETEEN. When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.
If it is that important
TWENTY. Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice.
Machine is on. I do not like speaking on the phone unless I have a business to take care.
TWENTY-ONE. Spend some time alone.
The best of all advice. |

First - CL - your responses were hilarious and some true.
ONE. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.
I do try to live by this and somehow someone always seems to want to take advantage of me
TWO. Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other.
This I've learned from many married people.
THREE. Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want.
Never believe all I hear - agreed, I sleep as much as I want and put my spending in my mattress so no one else can spend it
FOUR. When you say, 'I love you ,' mean it.
Really and truly
FIVE. When you say, 'I'm sorry,' look the person in the eye.
Oh yes I do
SIX. Be engaged at least six months before you get married.
That's all???? I planned on a year or for life...
SEVEN. Believe in love at first sight.
That might be a wee scary
EIGHT. Never laugh at anyone's dream. People who don't have dreams don't have much.
AGREED WHOLEHEARTEDLY
NINE. Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely.
Yeppers
TEN.. In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling.
Well... if we both call names, that's fair, yes???
ELEVEN. Don't judge people by their relatives.
I dunno bout this one...
TWELVE. Talk slowly but think quickly.
No, I need to talk slow and think slow too - you'd have to know me to understand
THIRTEEN. When someone asks you a question you don't want to answer, smile and ask, 'Why do you want to know?'
Depends on what they're asking if I respond like that or not
FOURTEEN. Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk.
Yes, (sighs) they do
FIFTEEN. Say 'bless you' when you hear someone sneeze.
ALWAYS
SIXTEEN. When you lose, don't lose the lesson !
Very true, very
SEVENTEEN. Remember the three R's: Respect for self; Respect for others; and responsibility for all your actions.
Good 3 R's
EIGHTEEN. Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship..
Depends on the dispute. It it's my 3 M's (man, money and/or munchies), then you're done!!
NINETEEN. When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.
Or destroy all evidence that you've made the mistake
TWENTY. Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice.
Even if it's a phone call outside of your normal calling hours???
TWENTY-ONE. Spend some time alone.
Love this one to no end |
