| Thats ashame really, i hate it when its took me a lot of effort to install summat then no one can be bothered to use it, that drives me nuts! Mind i ask my members first coz i like to know if they think its a good idea or not then i will know if that particular mod will get used! |

When we first started this community, I installed anything and everything that I thought people might want to use. Nothing was cast in stone so there were a lot of changes early on. I was initially surprised when several things I thought were going to be popular drew no interest, but it didn't bother me all that much. Since I use EM to install everything, it didn't take long to install most of what's added here...

| awww thats good, i suppose its easy when you know how to resolve mods that are causing a bit of a problem etc i seem to have problems with everyone, i was gonna install some new things on my teddybear site, but i give up coz theres always a problem, i was trying to do the acp announcement centre installed fine but that was an error on the index, why cant things just install easy, coz iv already done this mod before i dont wanna go through the hassle of trying to fix the problem again |

You have to realize that many of these MOD authors are people who have very little php and modding experience. So each time you install a MOD, you are hoping that they really knew what they were doing, but there is no guarantee. And even if they are great php coders, they may not know how to write an EM Friendly MOD script...
In addition, these MODs are written to be installed into a clean phpBB install for a particular phpBB version, which may or may not be the version you are currently running. After you install each MOD, then the potential for modding conflicts increases...
There are plenty of hurdles that make installing MODs more difficult. The MOD scripts that include far too much information in the FIND commands are the easiest to fix. The hardest problems are dealing with REPLACE WITH commands that are trying to replace code that has been modified by other MODs. It would be nice if MOD authors avoided using REPLACE WITH commands whenever possible. Most of the times, they could write more targetted and surgical commands that wouldn't conflict with modded code. That's something that MOD authors can learn from experience, which many do not have...
