get the menu header blocks to be wider rather than have an extra block on the end that doesn't do anything

http://www.christopher-powell.co.uk/

I think we did this before, not sure why the extra block is there again now for  dontknow

First, thing to do to fix this was to remove the extra menu option.  I commented it out since you might want to re-add it eventually...

OPEN
s-inc/nav.php

FIND
Code:
<li <?php if($page == "Forums") echo "id=\"current\""; ?>><a href="" title=""></a></li>

REPLACE WITH
Code:
<!--li <?php if($page == "Forums") echo "id=\"current\""; ?>><a href="" title="">Forums</a></li-->

Then you would adjust the width of the menu options:

OPEN
css/site-style.css

FIND
Code:
div#nav ul li a {

FIND
Code:
width: 9.01em;

REPLACE WITH
Code:
width: 138px;

You're welcome Chris...

I'm about to start over with the OS install since so much went wrong with this one.  Hopefully if all goes well, this won't take nearly as long as it did the last time around...

Losing data isn't much of a concern.  I have good backups of everything.  What I want to do is get a good install without any new bugs or the old ones.  It seems that the M$ Updates and patches have caused most of my problems.  I should have avoided installing them altogether...

What operating system are you using?
Shouldn't it be just a matter of turning pc off, fitting new HDD, connect cables etc then reboot pc and and let win 95/98/xp just detect and install the new hardware?

I remeber a mate of mine installing a 200GB HDD about half a year ago and he could only use 166GB of the 200BG HHD unless he installed maxter software or something which told windows to decect the full 200GB. It was a right game for him to get it working with just 200GB. Its no wonder you're having trouble trying to get a 500GB HDD working...

Also, if the windows updates are interfering with installing your new HDD then can't you just uninstall all of the windows updates, install the HDD and then just put the updates back on again after once the new HDD is working...

If you're using vista then you'll need a lot of good luck  Brick wall

Also, having copy op software can prevent you from installing new hardware too *confused Brick wall
