What's the use of this?  Laughing

When I tried to restore the database using ACP it couldn't do it because phpBB tables already existed. I would have thought it could at least overwrite the tables or something dontknow

Instead if I ever want to restore the database I have to goto my hosts CPanel > phpmyadmin delete the database tables then import the sql file again. Lot of messing about imo  violent1

If you do your database backups from your ACP, you should be able to restore them from the ACP as well.  But if you make your backups from phpMyAdmin or some other source, then the ACP Restore database option may not work as you noticed since your database backup may include structural duplications which would never be allowed.  I never use the ACP backups or restore utilities.  I've heard that the Retore can have trouble if the backup file is too large as well...

Yes, I've come to the conclusion that the phpMyAdmin backups are better than both the ACP Database Backup and MySql-Front Export options.  The phpMyAdmin export creates a smaller backup file that can be restored with fewer errors.  I think it's the best and fastest way to go at this point...
