It sounds like you used the manual option to install EM, which would make using EM a real PITA if true. If you have no other option, that is better than nothing, but I hope you have better options than that...
The reason you are seeing this error is because you didn't rename the lang_easymod_english.php file to lang_easymod.php when you copied it to your lang_english folder or whatever you are using for your default language folder. So after renaming the file to lang_easymod.php, the error will go away...
If you want me to take a closer look at your problem, I would be happy to do so. Just send me a PM and we can go from there. I can't guarantee success, but my track record is pretty good so far. Out of the hundreds of sites that I have worked on, I have only encountered about 5-6 where I couldn't come up with a viable solution to an EM install problem. There are just some host related problems that are beyond our control...

Ok, so far so good, you're a genius and I appreciate the help. I did use the manual option to install, it was the only thing that led to anywhere. Everything else wasn't working. What's a PITA?
My mod center is in place, but if I click on install, history or settings I get this message.
Template->make_filename(): Error - file admin/mod_header.tpl does not exist |

If you are using alternate templates, you will need to upload the EM template files to each of the template folders. For example, if you are using the Helius template, you would upload the following files to Helius like this:

copy easymod/includes/*.tpl to templates/Helius/admin/*.tpl
copy easymod/includes/emc.gif to templates/Helius/images/emc.gif
copy easymod/easymod.gif to templates/Helius/images/easymod.gif

*.tpl means to copy all files that have a tpl extension from the easymod/includes folder. You will have to copy these files to each template that you are using on your board...

Everything is now in place, easymod works, the birthday mod is in place and everything changed successfully, but there is no birthday field in user profiles, lol!
How can that be? |

If the MOD is correctly installed, then there should be a Birthday option in your Profile. Which version of the Birthday MOD are you trying to install? There are several Birthday MODs available out there. Can you provide a link to the MOD topic and/or download???

Ok, I imagine that the code was placed within an existing switch, which would prevent it from displaying properly or at all. I'm assuming that the problem is in the Profile Add page, so if you could provied a text link to your profile_add_body.tpl file, I could probably tell you how to correct this problem. If the problem is in the member Profile view page, then I would need a text link to your profile_view_body.tpl file...
Creating text Links for phpBB files
First create a duplicate of the phpBB file on your PC, then rename the file by adding .txt to the end of the file name. Next upload the file to a location on your FTP Server accessible to the public and provide a link back here for us to analyze it...
The path to your file could look something like this now:

The Birthday code hasn't been added to either one of these files. Did you ignore any warning errors or fail to get to Step 3 in the MOD install???

All warning errors were dealt with and the install was totally successful.
Just checked the mod history, the birthday mod is on there fine, the files I uploaded for you have been included as edited. |
