Does anyone know much about this or have a demo i could look at, also rss feeds or anything along those lines, i wanted to try summat different, and if these are useful mods maybe try it out, but if its a PITA to install or anything then i wont bother!

They are both installed here in RCF. If you want to join a Newsfeed group, you will be able to see the Forum Integrated News Delivery MOD in action in each of our Newsfeed forums. Just go into the Usergroups menu option and subscribe to any of the available groups. If you want to see all of the Newsfeed forums, simply subscribe to the Newsfeeds... group...

Oh i see, i joined the newsfeed group, so how does it actually work?

In the ACP, you can add newsfeeds from many sources. The way I designed it is that related news goes to separate forums and to see a forum, you must be part of the group. So now that you have subscribed to the Newsfeeds group, you will now be able to see and access all of the Newfeed forums listed on RCF's Index page...

I also set up a CRON job so that newsfeeds are updated every 4 hours. The CRON settings would be set in your Host CPanel...

If you look at the bottom of the page, you will see a

button. If you click on it, it will allow you to receive new messages from RCF in your favorite RSS Reader...

oh right that sounds cool! I dunno how to work the cron jobs in my cpanel, i remember trying for my digests and got it totally wrong and had to ask a friend to do it for me, although digests still aint working right lol! Anyway il look into installing this at a later date when iv got more time on my hands, maybe in the next few days! Il av a closer look at yours too as i was too tired last nite!

I've only run into one site where the CRON jobs were difficult to set. Typically, they are very easy to set up. I will be happy to help you with it if need be. Once you see one CRON job setup, then all others that you want to create should be simple for you...
