I agree with that 100% Nightrider, Seems to me most questions were rarely answered and you were just given a dumb@$$ remark by some smart@$$.........on the bright side those people made me look elsewhere for help and going thru various other sites I found you and your awesome site. so for that I say Cheers to the tards at phpbb |

That's nice of you to say Cowboy. Just think how much better it could be if the attitude was different at phpBB.com though. They have everything they need to have a worldclass support community, but they trash it with their rude and disruptive attitudes. And they are creating others who emulate them and start acting the same. So the negative attitude is self-perpetuating over there...

| Your absolutely right Nightrider, they could do all that and more they choose not to and if not for people like you I would have given phpbb up and gone back to using my IBP Board ...... not everyone can be as knowledgable as they are and if we were we wouldnt need them anyways maybe they oughta to think about it that way..... me personally I'll never go there again |

Me either. I used to help a lot there, but quit after the harrassment started. Then I helped a lot at Area 51 until the harrassment started. Surely you would think that if they wanted people helping, they would know that harrassing volunteer help isn't the best way to keep people volunteering to help. The whole attitude discourages the volunteers from contributing their time, efforts, and knowledge to the community. Without the volunteers, the community is nothing...

A lot of people have complained about them to me and I have been a victim of the phpBB.com staff as well. I imagine a lot of people refuse to frequent the community due to their harsh treatment there by the phpBB.com staff...

I went to see you in area51 some weeks ago, noticed you hadn´t posted during some weeks, worried about you, looked a bit further and found out what had happened.
To be honest, I was pretty shocked to see what treatment you as a very involved contributor were given, and I guess I don´t know even half of it all. Incredible really, that´s not a way to build a community nor to treat your fellow contributors. And the end result is a virtually useless easymod section where very little usefull support is being received nowadays by all those users.
I´m really glad to see your still out here, doing what you´re so good at. |

I used to offer technical support at phpBB.com until I was banned for 3 days because I had two images in my signature. I had nearly 2000 posted messages at phpBB.com at the time, most of which were helping others. Then over at Area 51, within hours after phpBB.com went down for an extended period, I was banned for 3 days because I questioned why 3Di was locking valid and open topics. I sent PMs to his superiors and was immediately banned. Apparently the actions of any Team Member are beyond question, at least in their mindes. I had over 7000 messages at Area 51 at that point, most of which were assisting others with their problems...
I refuse to participate in a place where the Staff are allowed to bully the volunteers and disrupt the community like that. And like you say, the EM forums are pretty worthless now that they have driven all of the volunteer help away. What a way to run a community...
