I am looking to do something new with one of my boards. What I would like is a forum where all postings are anonymous. It would be great if people didn't have to sign out from their account and sign into an account called "anonymous" just to post anonymously. And if I can help it I would like to stay away from having a forum where guests can post, in order to keep spam out of it.

Also, I am not even sure if I want it to be in a forum. It would be even better if when you clicked on the forum, instead of being on the screen where all topic titles show, it would just be one on going topic where all anonymous replies just build up, newest one being at the top of the replies, and creating a new page after 10 or so replies. In fact, if there is a way we can do this without it actually being a phpbb forum, that would work, too.

I know there are probably a few ways to do this, so that's why I am asking for your help.

I was thinking, the integrated shoutbox might be a mod that could be used? Although I already have this on my forum, it would be cool if we could customize it a little bit, so that I can have a link somewhere on my forum, that takes you to a page on my site, where you can enter in your anonymous post. Kind of like a confessional, and when you post it, it becomes the first one listed and bumps the other replies down.

I hope I am explaining this enough. I wonder if a blog type script could do this for me. Or wordpress? I don't know enough about wordpress to know if it will work for this.

So, this is what I want.

You are on a page on my site, where at the top is a box that you can type in your confession, and once typed out, you click submit and it shows up below this box. (Anonymous to everyone, but IP recorded for admin purposes) And new confessions are then added at the top of the rest, and after 10 or so it will go to another page and create a "next" link to read the past confessions.

Does you have any idea's how I can get something like this done? Let me know if I have just totally confused you.

Sounds good FTM, I've seen something similar to this on other forums, like a shout box where users submit there stuff and the latest ones go to the top moving the older ones down. Not sure how you’d get it to keep track of the ones that go of page using a link though. Neither do I know how you'd get it so anonymous people can post/blog or whatever lol.

No doubt it can be done though... just knowing where to find the software’s or a person that can modify the software’s and coding to suit your needs innit headbang

I know of at least one other community that is using this and they seem pretty happy with it. I hope it works out for you too...

Yes, it allows you to turn some or all of your forums into Anonymous forums...

Thank You Nightrider! It does almost everything we were looking for. We opened it up today on DM. My only issue with it riht now is that is still shows the names of who is browsing the forum. Is there anyway to take this option off of only this one forum? I know I can get rid of it altogether, but I would rather not if I don't have too.

You could probably do the following. Change the number 7 to the forum_id assigned to your Divine Confessional forum:
