Ok, I figured it out.  The include for the recent.php file was placed below the Simple Subforums code in the index.php file, so many of the objects that it needed had been freed and were unassigned.  By moving the include code above the Simple Subforums code, the problem went away...

This is the line of code that I had to reposition in your index.php file...

Code:
include($phpbb_root_path .'recent.'.$phpEx);

Check it out now.  It should be displaying properly now...

YAY thx a lot Smile

I also worked a bit and found a thing i don't trust Smile

Maybe it's ok, but maybe it's also wrong:

In  the Mod is:

code
Begin Simple Subforums MOD

$folder_images = array(

'default' => $folder_image,
end code

Shouldn't it be:

code
'default' => $images['folder'],
end code

cause in my Templates.cfg it is:

code
$images['folder'] = "$current_template_images/folder.gif";
end code

plz tell me if that matters in any way Smile

No, your way would hardcode the image file, but it doesn't take into account whether the topic is locked, an attachment or sticky, active, etc.  The original code is correct.  The Simple Subforum MOD has been around for a very long time and the MOD author seems to be a fairly competent developer...

Since I am on a fixed income, I always appreciate donations whenever possible.  It is never necessary to do so.  It sure helps me out though when people can afford to do so...

Let me know if you have any trouble with the code change...
