I just deleted all the files in the cache folder. What we think happened is that the site was taken down while one of the files were being written to the cache folder. So since it never completed being written, the file was corrupt and brought down the site. The IX tech guy and I discussed it back and forth for about 45 minutes, and after he mentioned that he thought that one of the phpBB files might be corrupt after being updated by the softwrae and I was explaining to him that phpBB doesn't do that, it occurred to me that it does doe that in the cache folder. So as soon as I emptied the folder, the site came back to life again. I think he was as relieved about it as I was...

He explained to me that each time a support ticket is updated, it goes to the back of the line. So if you updated it trying to keep in contact with them, then it never got to the point of being looked at. I explained to him that since you live in Australia, you can't contact them through the toll free number and that your only contact with them is through the support tickets. I told him that their system of bumping the tickets back was dumb and after I explained your situation to him, I think he realized it too. So in the future, it might be better to fill out a new support ticket each time you want to talk to them so that you don't move your open ticket to the end of the line each time...
