I added a MOD that will refresh the Main Index page automatically every x seconds. Right now, I have it set to refresh the Main Index page every 300 seconds or 5 minutes...

I believe that I can install a MOD that will do the same for the the View Forum page as well, but I have hesitated adding it since it may prove to be more annoying than useful to everyone. I can add it too if everyone would like that feature to be included in our community...

I would like to be able to say one way or the other but I'm not. Not sure I understand the usefulness of a MOD that auto refreshes the View Forum page. As you open new threads there is a refresh anyway isn't it?

It probably depends on the browser you use and your surfing style. In Opera, you can open up more than one window at a time. So the way I surf, I have the Main Index and View Forum Pages open all the time. When I want to view a topic, I open it in a new window as well. So if there are a lot of responses, it's not unusual for me to have 10-20 tabbed windows open and dedicated to pages from RCF...

The auto refresh option would be more helpful for someone who surfs like me than for someone who only has one window open to RCF at a time, unless they leave it open all the time and come back from time to time to refresh and see what's new. With the auto-refresh on the Main Index page, the page will be automatically updated every 5 minutes, so there would be less need to refresh to see if anything is new. The same could be done for the View Forum page as well...

The problem I saw with adding the automatic refresh on the View Forum page is that some may work their way down the line reading topics and catching up. If the page continues to refresh, it might interfere with someone's surfing and reading style...
