So I wonder if I need to have a chat with my host?
You broke the files up into smaller on my server or you have them broken down elsewhere?
I purposely changed the ENGLISH.DIC to english.dic cause I didn't see them on the server and remembered that a long time ago when this happened I contacted my host and they told me that anything that started with a capitol letter would not show up.
Things are hard enough without the server host doing their thing but I guess they do it for security purposes. |

I don't beleive that your host would force small font case. It shouldn't matter whether the first character is capital or small except for when the code is expecting a particular fontcase. I uploaded the files to your spelling folder using SmartFtp and it did not change the font case. So the problem is probably with your FTP application...
In SmartFtp, you can change the settings so that the application handles these the way you would want:

I installed Smartftp but it will not stay connected says the server disconnects it. I tried everything they said to try but could not make it work. Just for GP I installed the trial cuteftp and it has no problem staying connected.
Because of that I went back to my Namo FTP program.
Sometimes I use the cuteFtp.
Since last post I went and tried the import again it went up to 26% waited a few minutes and did it again it went to 31% then 3-4 min later tried and it went to 33%. I guess I just keep trying every few minutes.
The MAJOR thing here is I have 5 other boards to install this to.
Now how do I upload the files to those boards the way you have them on the test so I can get this on all boards? |

Just make sure that your FTP application is preserving the font case. There should be a setting in most good FTP applications...
I think there are about 197 K words in the dictionary. That's why it takes so long to upload it...

Contacted my host and this is what I got back...
We are sorry for the inconvenience caused.
We have set the current limit 70'000 of max_questions per hour, per user. Once you have exceeded, you will begin to receive the message until the end of the hour, and your limit is reset.
I am sorry to say that to keep the good performance of MySQL server, we unfortunately can't increase the value. Although you can control it from your script. So, please take a look at your script, it might help you.
Thank you for understanding!
Have a nice day!
Kind regards,
Steven, Servage Hosting
SO....... I need some guidance here, I never have broken up files don't know how, but my thought process is. Once they are broken up into manageable per hr sections then I need to import each one remove it then upload teh next one and rotate till I get them all in. Is this anyway near right? can't start from ' a ' each time will never get to z.
So this is where I am at the moment ............ HELP !!!!!!!!!! |

I have broken the dictionary up into 10 smaller pieces for other restrictive sites. Download and extract the files from the following:
spellcheck_dictionaries.zip
You can delete your orginal english.dic stored in your spelling folder and use the English_01.dic-English_10.dic files instead...

No, you don't have to reinstall anything. If you have 1-10 of the dictionaries already, you can use them instead of the english.dic file that came with the MOD. I created the others from the original...

Well I had the 1-10 in the wrong place anyway so I deleted them and uploaded yours.
The imports went well, A couple minutes per hour over a three hr period got them all in. I deleted anything anywhere with the .dic extension.
It didn't make sense to me but I thought maybe the spellcheck button wasn't showing because the files were not imported but it still isn't there
Now what? I thought I did exactly what some of the instructions above were but guess I got something wrong |

| OH...P.S. I checked in the preferences of my NamoFTP and sure enough there was a check mark in the convert to lowercase. Took it out. I think I did that way over a yr ago when Servage told me all files had to start with a small letter. |
