The buildings in flame, gripe the soul of our nation.
as we watch again and again, a hate made creation.
So many deaths, lay due to ground zero.
many normal people, were made hero.
the smoke was thick, and the fire was hot.
And the loved ones of the workers nerves were shot.
as they watched the building burn down to the ground
the bodies dropping with a heart clenching sound.
the fire fighters, were up against a horrible war.
no fire proof vest could endure.
too many people they were destined to save
inside a building about to cave.
the smiles, they weakened, the words, they cracked
as the eyes of the workers, widened on impact.
flames on the flesh, screams from below.
a day of a pain, a fear, a sadness no one should know.
five years later, we remember that day.
And no matter the words, there is nothing to say.
So we stand there in silence, and give our respect.
for the 3000 people, and the heroes we will never forget.
and we watch the families, shed a mourningful tear,
for the people they lost, and never again will be near.
They wipe them away, never getting a goodbye.
they look to the dusty sky, and ask the heavens why.
the hold on the pictures, the fabric once worn.
but down with two buildings, so many families were torn.
too many names, for the obituaries to list.
so many happy people are gone, and missed.
And nothing we can do, to return what was taken
on the day all humanity was forsaken.

What a wonderfully, descriptive ode to 9/11.  Certainly makes one remember the horror, disbelief and sadness
