Greetings new Members
Here's how to upload your Avatar:
Whether you are uploading your avatar from your machine, uploading Avatar from a URL or Link to off-site Avatar, follow the 2 instructions below
1. Displays a small graphic image no greater than 80x80 pixels in width and height.
2. The file size should not be more than 6 KB.
If the avatar is coming from a url or linkk to off-site avatar, copy and paste the link in the corresponding empty boxes from your profile. Take for instance my avatar link address code would be:
Code:
|
http://img41.exs.cx/img41/2640/clavt1.jpg
|
Here's how to add Signature Graphics
Again, take my signature for instance the code would be:
Code:
|
[size=9][b][color=blue]Hey! Watch it![img]http://img65.exs.cx/img65/8637/ZQ_BLU11.gif[/img]Be nice and I'll be nice.[/b][/size][/color][img]http://img69.exs.cx/img69/9337/ZO_BLU12.g if[/img]

I couldn't ever upload an avatar when using the phpbb Profiles utility. I kept getting error messages, even when I told it to try to delete any old avatars, which there shouldn't have been any...
I was finally able to connect to the FTP server using SmartFTP. I then uploaded the little avatar that I was planning to use for now. Then I set the URL in Profiles and it seemed to accept the URL setting without any problem. But the little avatar still isn't showing up. So I don't know what to try next...

Right clicking at your current Xbox avatar (not working one), you are not placing it in the right directory or created one as per instruction on the link below.
See this post FROM this postings
Again, click on Delete image to erase your old one from the database before uploading a new one but you have to first set up the proper direction as per instruction.
If you click on Select Avatar from gallery -------Will generate this
Currently empty of course but...
From the drop down menu you can select the avatar from each folder and select the images (which I have not sent yet). You can create an extra folder where you can store you private images in the private (directory folder)
So from your actual DOMAIN control panel under your phpbb root folder,
1. Find the images folder
2. Under images folder, find avatar folder
3. Under avatar folder, create a directory called --- gallery. Make sure it is written exactly like it is.
4. Under gallery directory, create the following folder exactly as it is.
images101
letters
private
Now upload your wanted avatar into the private folder
Acks! I hope I can explain this better (not really a good techy conversationalist) |

As far as uploading avatar from your computer, this option seems to be a problem which I could never figure out even when I had my forum running.
Best would be, using the remaining two options from your profile utilities.
I'm sure Blake will get it going one way or the other. |

The avatar feature has now been fixed, CL. I tested it by uploading a graphic from my machine and it worked fine.
I was going to change my avatar back to the one I had, and I still may, but it looks so approperate for an administrator I decided to keep it for a while.
