This is very strange. After logging in it takes this time to get to the index page: Page generation time: 75.4754s (PHP: 1% - SQL: 99%) - SQL queries: 48 - GZIP enabled - Debug on

Yes, I noticed it too. So I called our host and had them reset our database. I also repaired and optimized all the tables to make sure there were no corruptions there that could be causing this. Everything should be back to normal now...
Thanks for reporting this Spider...

Yep, it got better, now it's slow again. There seems to be a problem on their end again. Reparing and Optimizing the tables didn't seem to help...

Atleast your site works. Mine is down again and I'm seriously considering moving the site to another host.
Repairing and optimising the tables - is this something that should be done often? I know you installed these mods NR but to tell you the truth I have never used them for fear that I'd stuff something. |

Sorry to hear about your host problems. We will be moving to a new host soon too. We just haven't settled on which yet. It's really hard to know whether a host is any good, even after reading reviews. Many of the reviews and rankings are either fake, provided by the host themselves, or are determined by the amount paid to the site that posts the results. Often the only way to see whether a host is any good is to try them out...
I recently worked on a site that was supposed to have unlimited space. For a while, I was unable to work on the site because she was out of space. I couldn't continue working on the site until she deleted some files and freed up some space. That doesn't sound like unlimited space to me...
I worked on a site tonight where the host deleted the databases and all the data held within rather than resetting the database server in order to get the forum up and running again. They didn't have any backups that could be restored. Luckily the admin had made a full database backup the day before, so I was able to get her site up and running with very little data loss...
I think I installed the Optimize Database MOD on your board, which automatically optimizes your database every hour, so you don't have to lose any sleep on running that. You really shouldn't have to repair your database tables either. If they are getting corrupted, something is seriously wrong, probably on the host's side. The activity from these forums would not ever corrupt a database...
The only time you should even have to think about Repairing your tables is if you encounter a strange database problem. Most times, the database problem is that the Host's Database Server is down and needs to be reset, so there is nothing you can do on your end. But if your database is running, but the performance is lousy or if you are getting database errors, you might want to consider repairing your tables. I use MySql-Front to do it, but the tools I installed in your ACP should work just as well...
