i totally agree with BigR. serif PhotoPlus 6 is also a very good free utility...just because photoshop is used by all, expensive and most talked about..it doesnt mean its the best...there are hell a lot of free software that do the similar task more effectively..

Paint .Net is another impressive small free program...that can replace our regular MSPaint

GIMP for windows is good..but it requires a GTK to be installed in the system to operate it from windows...though it is very stable..there are cases when GTK conflicts with .net framework....but yet it worth a try..

Photoshop elements 2 now sells for twenty bucks, theres no reason why everyone can't afford that. I paid $70 a couple years ago, but its way down now.

I want the upgarde to elements 3, but that sells for $100 and $60 on ebay. I am getting adobi's DVD maker, maybe, I am getting the roxio's new video software for sure, I asked for both.

the adobi photoshop cost thousands, but most of that stuff no one needs, its web publisher etc., the elements is all you need glen, $20 at walmart or anywhere.
