I don't expect an answer, but thought i'd share-

I got to the bottom of a stack of DVDs, a big stack, and the ones at the bottom apear to be reject. I've had this problem with stacks og CDs. I lost many hours work, so I thought. Here is what is going on - I record video to DVD. I return DVD to check to see if it works, and it doesn't. So I thought DVD burner problem, but then I tried, instead of opening as a folder and playing it, I just played it off the disc and it works fine. For some reason, when I open it as folder to view it, it is jerky and reject. I don't understand, I think if I dragged it to harddrive it would play OK, so there is something about the extra communication, from drive e to folder to player, and works OK if I go from drive e to player, does anyone follow me? Does anyone care, lol?

I'm sure there are those that will understand just what you are talking about and even know why it happens.  LOL, I'm not one of those.

What few things I have done with CD and DVD turned out perfect which doesn't mean I knew what I was doing but that the software did.   sunny

I hear about so many quirky things about CD and DVD players, burners, software, results, etc., there ought to be a book written about them.   Seems the biggest problem is with consistence and  compatability between PCs and players/burners.  I blame that on the makers, programmers and developers.

They need to get their heads together.  The incompatibility and inconsistences aren't doing any of them any good.

I went thru that too rb, the intervideo I use to capture, cause nothing else worksd right; then I make the movie and burn it in roxio program, cause nothing else works right.

I am getting new software for xmas, I asked for adobi's new versiona and roxio's new one, I hope to get both but I will just be glad to get something new. The roxio 6 works well, but very limited when it comes to adding text.

As far as the error I mentioned, its like putting a music cd in and a menu will open asking which program you want to use to play it, and heres the problem - if I choose to just open it as a folder instead of playing it, and then I open the folder and try to play it, it won;t work right. Thats jusdt a sample, don't know if that would happen but it happens with DBD video.

Based on what you're describing, it sounds like the movie has to play on a high speed disc, like a HDD.  Apparently your DVD player doesn't spin fast enough for the movie to play correctly.  Your DVD probably only spins at 7200 rpm max.  The HDD is probably spinning at a much higher rate, which makes it so that the movie plays correctly.  I am surprised that this is happening though since I though most DVD players would play any movie as it was meant to be seen...
