I keep my SS in a folder on my desktop. When I right -clicked on an image in the SS folder it brought up a menu. I selected Send to> mail recipient and was taked to my Thunderbird email program. I just installed Thunderbird this past week on my PC. Up until this morning When I went through the send-to selection I was taken to Outlook Express. Where do I go to set OE as my default email program? Particularly in my send-to folder? |

First try this. Go into your Control Panel and launch the Internet Options Utility. Make sure OE is assigned as your Email program...

Ok, did you have to change the setting???
If not, try this next. Go into Thunderbird, click on Tools in the menu at the top, and select Options...
In Options, go to the General category and make sure that "Use Thunderbird as default mail application" is unchecked...

I have a workaround that will work. I can open the send menu in OE and drag and drop the SS image to that window to senf d them. I was just wondering why doing it the other way changed from OE to Thunderbird as my sending program. |

Sounds like my Mail Washer program. If I chose the quick reply button it will launch Outlook Express althogh all my settings, like yours Bobby, have Netscape set as the default.
Bobby, you can insert your SS right in the OE compose window, click on the button shown in the SS, you will get a box with a browse button, browse to your SS, click and it's displayed in the compose window!

I didn't understand what you meant Rosalie when you said "Click on the button shown in the SS". Where is that button? I can go to my New Message window in OE and go to insert (on the top of that window) and click on "attach" in the dropdown menu and it will take me to the "Insert Attachment" window. Then I go to SS and insert the desired file. Or I can drag and drop the desired SS file into the OE New Message window.
Before I installed Thunderbird KI could go to my SS folder on my desktop and click on the desired SS file within and the OE New Message window would open. Now when I go through the same procedure the Thunderbird window opens instead of the OE new Message window. I have gone through my settings and cannot find out why the change.

The icon for inserting a picture is at the top of your compose window in OE. You have to pretend you're going to send an email to open a compose window. Go do that. Look at my very first SS to see an image of that icon.
It does the same thing as going to the top of the screen and doing what you said but my way seems quicker.

BTW, when clicking a screen shot and then Sent To, my Netscape email program launches.
However, like I said before when I click Quck reply in Mail Washer, OE launches.
Go figure.
