I've been around for a long time
And I've learned a lot about life
All thats good and thats bad
It's pleasure and even more strife.

I could tell you a lot of things
To make life easier each day
But I won't do that because
You wouldn't listen anyway.

Everybody has to navigate
And map out their own route
And give their all to living
in order to enjoy the fruit.

I won't sit back and wish
That I had gone another way
If you want to enjoy life fully
you have to actively play.

So don't rue all your mistakes
And try to be more cautious
This just gives you ulcers
And really make you nauseous

Remember, someone loves you
Just because of who you are
Your lover, your kids and friends
Think you're their shinning star.
