Meta Tag Creator
I installed a Meta Tag Creation utility that provides an easy way to create Meta Tags that you can insert into your web pages. Meta tags can be used to give instructions to web spiders, and to provide valuable information about your page, site, and authors/owners of the site including keywords that might be used to find your site through Internet Searches. If you want to protect a page from a web spider, Meta tags can direct them not to scan your pages as well...
Here is a link to the new Meta Tag Utility installed on our site:
Meta Tag Creator
When you click on the link, you will see a page containing the following fields...
Enter your Site Title, a brief description of your site, keywords that might be helpful for people to find your site in an Internet search, and author or link to your site. Then you can choose whether to allow all web spiders or not or to what pages they are allowed to scan. Once you have filled in each field, simply press the Create Meta Tags button and you will be given something much like this:
Code:
|
<META NAME="description" CONTENT="Progressive Community open to free and open discussion about any topic. We offer chat, games, computer advice, etc...">
<META NAME="keywords" CONTENT="chat, discussion, games, computer, advice, progressive, respect, internet radio, gallery">
<META NAME="author" CONTENT="rb2d2xp and Nightrider">
<META NAME="robots" CONTENT="All">
|
Copy the code and paste it just below the <head> HTML tag at the top of your web page. Then save and upload your page. It's that easy!!!

You can control which spiders are allowed on the site and where they can go in the robots.txt file that you can create. I have it set to allow all spiders to wonder around our site right now...
