I added the View PM While Replying MOD which allows us to see the PM we're replying to just below the input box, very like the topic review when replying to topics...

Another good one! I never could understand why that wasn't a standard option. It almose forces you to copy and past the message you're replying to into the compose window. Unless you have a mind and memory like a steel trap! And we both know what kind of mind and memory I have ......
.... well we won't go into that!

This MOD was unusual in how it is coded. I was surprised that no changes had to be made to the privmsgs_body.tpl file. It may be simple to get it to work in the Preview window too. I still haven't figured out how the original changes work though...

I think it's coded quite smart...

You better be... The template used for Writing PMs
(and this MOD) is called posting_body.tpl LOL

You have to keep in mind that the template used for posting messages
in a Forum and the template used for posting PMs is one and the same:
namely posting_body.tpl ...that's why no change was needed to the
template file for this MOD since the Topic Review is part of the posting
process (but had previously only been used when posting in a Forum)
There's a {TOPIC_REVIEW_BOX} variable at the bottom of that template
that was usually only filled with data when posting a message in a Forum
but remained empty when posting a Private Message...
All the MOD does now, is to fill that {TOPIC_REVIEW_BOX} variable with
the data of the Private Message that you are replying to... Very smart use
of existing recources indeed...
I'll see if I can figure out a way to get to show in the preview mode too...

Surprisingly, the ONLY file modified in this MOD is the privmsg.php file...

Yes, I think Manipe is one of the better MOD authors out there. I like most of his MODs. I imagine that the the Preview can be fixed simply by populating it's template variables too...

That would be nice if you could fix this too...

The Preview uses the same template as the other views (posting_body.tpl)
or better said, the Preview is part of the posting_body.tpl just empty when
not previewed...
The challenge is to "remember" the data from the message replied to
when the preview is selected, since the script is already one step ahead
and now has to remember the data of the current message you are
writing...
I'm still diging through that code...
