When someone has an answer please let me know
I’m trying to make sense but it doesn’t work anymore
The moon is so round but the sun is still like a square
But there is nobody going and nobody to even care

If the light gets dark, please let me know before
If darkness takes over please let me know when it’s light
There are children on the road trying to get money for the trip
They want to see Mr. Star but he’s always covered in a cloud

Oh my god what a place, I can’t believe the heat
It’s not even hot and still I have the mezzanine seats
Oh my god I can’t see, what the hell is going on downstairs
I guess it’s someone’s shoe that has been misplaced in despair

My head is spinning fast but I cannot see anything
Everything is too light for the moon to get to come to the spring
The people around me stand and think they make any sense
But the truth is they don’t although I understand them again

But no one has an answer and I’m just sitting here without ideas
I think to myself is this the way it feels to be free
I doubt it and I chew it and I puke it and I eat it up again
And then it happens, there comes the so lonesome train

Riding on it in first class and nothing is the way it was
I thought it would be better but as usual they lie to all of us
I’m looking for the bar but they tell me it is closed since noon
So I jump off the train and have a drink with you at the moon

We drink our gin and look at each other rather weird
I look very closely and realize that you are pierced
You look so sad and I realize it’s in your heart
I invite you to come with me in my non existing car

On the other side the queens are looking as if they were dead
I can’t imagine what’s really going on in their head
I haven’t even thought of them I have only thought of you
And it makes it all so hard because I don’t know what to do

While the bottle’s getting empty you tell me that it’s all naturally
I’m deaf to what your saying I’m reading The Great Gatsby
But you insist so hard I can’t ignore you this time
When you tell me that you promise me that you will always be just mine

Oh, I’m tired now and want to sleep, you tell me that it is too late
I am wondering how that can be and ask you if you know the taste
of sleepiness and emptiness and you answer me that it’s pretty cold
The man with the jacket comes and tell you that I’m just too bold

I try to sleep again but you just insist in the same
It looks like an adventure but to you it is just a game
Please keep you mouth shut I say and I try to close my eyes
But every time I do it you ask me why and why and why

Well, Spider, I must say your poetry is very deep.  Too deep for me to understand but it sure makes a person keep reading!   I think it's amazing how people can put their thoughts or feelings, no matter how jumbled they may be, into words the way you do

Thank you, Spider, for sharing your poetry with us, I consider that an honor.

Honestly it is not about being deep or not. It's words that come up to my head and sometimes they make sense other times they don't...

And don't forget what Dylan said: They lyrics mean what you want them to mean...

Much of life, many of us don't understand... But I guess we'll just keep plugging along...

This is one of those poems that might be great in a song.  You ought to try to write a tune to go along with this Spider.  We need a new addition to your Music Album...

"And don't forget what Dylan said: They lyrics mean what you want them to mean... "  Spider

And that makes a lot of sense too!   I'm sure three people reading your poetry would see it three different ways.

"Honestly it is not about being deep or not. It's words that come up to my head "

You make it sound simple, Spider, but it's not.  Words in the head are a long ways from words on paper.  Or PC screen.  Not everyone has the ability to do that.

I'm glad you can.

Spider, we sure could use some more poetry from you.  We don't have too many poets among our membership.

Like ... none.

Right now.
