I just made a jpg of the green smiley face and tried to make it my avatar. The following is what I got before that screen was gone and I went back to the normal forum screen:

Yes, I get the same thing when I try it. Since I can't even log into our domain using SmartFTP, I think this is more likely a host problem than a phpbb software problem... Crying or Very sad

I'm hoping the problem will be fixed by Cinerhost soon and won't take any action on my part. If I can't log into the account soon, I will have to submit a ticket to the Tech people at Cinerhost. Hopefully this problem will go away on its own sometime tonight...

I just uploaded the "mr green" smiley face to my Geocities web site and put the required URL in and this forum software said my profile was updated, but the red X still showns in my profile, so I assume even this did not take.

Bummer.
