Let me know old folks when you’re ready
to look over
the hill
that covers the sky
and most of the sea
and won’t let you see beyond its control
You have to see the stars there
they are so shiny and bright
and they are on our side
if we just extend a hand
A hand
A hand to extend in the darkness of our dreams
A hand to extend in our brightness of horror
A hand to extend is what they are waiting for
Are you blind?
Are you deaf?
Are you gone?
I am still talking to you and looking for you and trying to hear your reply
But you’re so far away
Or is it just me
I who haven’t done anything for anybody in my entire life
Well, some things have been done
and I’m fucking proud
There is a moon
that is as brilliant as the stars
but to get there takes more than thoughts
although thoughts can take you a long way
but not as far as needed
You need to say something, brother!
I know you’ve been screaming for a long, long time.
More than hours and minutes
more than months
more or less
for years
but if you shut up now
the mountain will win
‘cause it’s big and powerful
People have climbed the highest mountains
they have gotten over to the other side
and they have seen the truth
and they have handled it
in one way or the other
Are you willing to do it?
Are you willing to climb the mountain
or even the wall?
A high wall |

I'm not going over the hill but I may fly away as in your other poem... |

Climb the mountain, uh? Not knowing what's on the other side is scary. There are some mountains in my life I probably won't ever climb. Even though I know I should.
