Is this what you're talking about? If so, it seems to be working for me in Opera:
However, something isn't installed correctly. Your viewtopic page is messed up...

Ok, there are two major errors in the MOD script and one error that can't be fixed for EM. The 3rd part will have to be done manually. So Restore the EM Backups, then make the following adjustments:
OPEN
vb_dare_106/inst_en.txt
FIND
| Code:
|
#
#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
{postrow.POSTER_NAME}
#
#-----[ REPLACE WITH ]------------------------------------------
#
<a class="nav" href="javascript:void(0)" onClick="return dropdownmenu(this, event, menu{postrow.VB_MENU_ID}, 'selfc')" onMouseout="delayhidemenu()">{postrow.POSTER_NAME}</a>
|
REPLACE WITH
| Code:
|
#
#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
{postrow.POSTER_NAME}
#
#-----[ IN-LINE FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
{postrow.POSTER_NAME}
#
#-----[ IN-LINE REPLACE WITH ]------------------------------------------
#
<a class="nav" href="javascript:void(0)" onClick="return dropdownmenu(this, event, menu{postrow.VB_MENU_ID}, 'selfc')" onMouseout="delayhidemenu()">{postrow.POSTER_NAME}</a>
|
FIND
| Code:
|
#
#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
{MESSAGE_FROM}
#
#-----[ REPLACE WITH ]------------------------------------------
#
<a class="nav" href="javascript:void(0)" onClick="return dropdownmenu(this, event, menu{VB_MENU_ID}, 'selfc')" onMouseout="delayhidemenu()">{MESSAGE_FROM}</a>
|
REPLACE WITH
| Code:
|
#
#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
{MESSAGE_FROM}
#
#-----[ IN-LINE FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
{MESSAGE_FROM}
#
#-----[ IN-LINE REPLACE WITH ]------------------------------------------
#
<a class="nav" href="javascript:void(0)" onClick="return dropdownmenu(this, event, menu{VB_MENU_ID}, 'selfc')" onMouseout="delayhidemenu()">{MESSAGE_FROM}</a>

Save, upload, and try again using EM...
Then you will have to manually make the following adjustment to your overall_header.tpl file. The reason why EM can't handle this is because the lines begin with a # sign, which for EM, is a comment and the end of the last command. So from that part on, EM doesn't process the code until the next command starts...
So this is what you do after you have reinstalled the MOD...
OPEN
overall_header.tpl
FIND
| Code:
|
|
.vbm { font-family: Verdana, Tahoma, Arial, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size : 10pt; }
|
AFTER, ADD
| Code:
|
#dropmenudiv{
position:absolute;
border:1px solid #CCCCCC;
filter:alpha(opacity=90);
-moz-opacity:0.9;
border-bottom-width: 0;
font:normal 12px Verdana;
white-space: nowrap;
line-height:18px;
z-index:100;
}
#dropmenudiv a{
width: 100%;
display: block;
text-indent: 3px;
border-bottom: 1px solid #CCCCCC;
padding: 1px 0;
text-decoration: none;
}
#dropmenudiv a:hover{
background-color: #E5E5E5;
}
#tspan a {
display:block;
text-indent: 3px;
padding: 2px;
font:bold 12px Verdana;
}
|
Save and upload to your subSilver folder. Be sure to create a good backup of the file before you overwrite it with this modified version, just in case...

I'm taking off for a few hours, so hopefully when I get back this will be working properly on your site...

Ok, took a while getting this done because I backed up my files and database fist. Anyway, well I did what you said NR and theres no errors now but theres no changes either. The drop down menu doesn't appear...
I'm going to get some kip in a bit because I’ve got to be up for work in the morning. I'll check back later when at work |

Ok, once I read this, I understood what was causing the problem:
| Quote:
|
|
Adds a CSS-based DHTML menu to viewtopic and private messages when you click on a posters name.
|
You have added code that turns the poster name into a hyperlink. So I edited the viewtopic.php file and made the following to turn the postername variable back into only a name again and this MOD now works in the View Topic page:
OPEN
viewtopic.php
FIND
| Code:
|
|
$poster .= ( $poster_id != ANONYMOUS ) ? '</a>' : '';
|
AFTER, ADD
| Code:
|
|
$poster = ( $poster_id != ANONYMOUS ) ? $postrow[$i]['username'] : ( ( $postrow[$i]['post_username'] != '' ) ? $postrow[$i]['post_username'] : $lang['Guest'] );
|
I didn't make the same change for your PM yet. This is what you can see now in View Topic when you click on the Member name:
Since most of these options are also at the bottom of the posted message, I'm not sure I see any benefit...

Thanks for taking a look. But I'm thinking the same as you. It might just be best to stick with the buttons instead. At least then if I have to install a mod that needs to add extra buttons there it could without interfering with the dhmtl menu. Yep, I’m going to leave it off. If do want it back on a later date though I’d know how to get it working next time now.
Cheers  |

It's an interesting concept though. Unfortunately, since you have to click on the member name to see the menu, chances are few would even know that the functionality even existed, so it would rarely get used...
