I usually try to discourage people from using Dreamweaver to modify their phpBB files since I've seen it mess up the format of the files. I have seen Dreamweaver add double spacing between every line in all the phpBB forum files of some sites. Needless to say, it is almost impossible to add any MODs when the spacing is so screwed up...
I highly recommend downloading, installing, and using 1st Page 2000. I use 1st Page 2000 to maintain all of my phpBB files and MOD scripts...
If you want to modify your forum logo, you would want to edit the overall_header.tpl file(s) stored in each of your template folders. If you search for <img, it might take you right to the line of code that you would want to modify...

I believe that your portal is integrated in with your templates. So the portal seems to be using the overall_header.tpl file just like your forum files. I don't actually see a logo in the Avalanche header but to adjust the header code for your Avalance template, you can edit your Avalanche/overall_header.tpl file. The Portal code would be in your Avalanche/portal_body.tpl file...

I'm glad that you have found 1st Page 2000 to be as useful as I have. Don't bother updating to 1st Page 2006 though. It is not nearly as good as 1st Page 2000 IMO...
