I’m trying to get the Welcome to Dj passions box to only appear to guests but no matter whether logged in or out it shows

Here is where the setings are Nightrider

ACP > IM Portal > Blocks Management > IM Portal Default then edit the block named Welcome to Dj passions

i've tried a load of different combonations but no good. I did get it working the first time round when i installed it but god knows how i did it. I've given up fighting with it. If you can't figure it out then I'l just delete it headbang

Deleting the portal solved all kinds of problems...

Sure did. I really have given up trying to get portals to work with my phpbb2 forum now. They’re all just a waste of time. And it’s not just me being new to them. They’re all just badly put together, etc. I’ll just stick with my phpbb2 forum which works a treat on its own headbang

See! Waste a time they are. Going by the blue header bars that was IM Portal you used. The portal goes way out too *tut

Perhaps if we had a lot of content on our site and the forum wasn't the only part that we highlight, a good portal would be a necessity. But since the forum is the main thing on our server and that's really the only place people should be going when they come here, then the portal is just an unnecessary step to get where we want people to go. It defies the KISS principle and IMO for sites like RCF, it is totally unnecessary...

I know what you mean. I thought it about it the same way too

Say like the next best dj site/forum which ranks the most is www.djforums.com

in the end they ended up getting rid of the frontend of the site because they couldn’t keep it updated etc. but I also noticed that when they had the forums load up from the root where all there traffic goes to etc then they started to get loads more members using the boards. So hopefully my site will go the same way

I'm not going to bother with a portal or homepage/FrontPage etc. just going to keep it as it is = forums load up when using the domain name www.djpassions.com Dancing
