I want to add something like this to my forums: http://thepointol.com/board
^ I want to add something like the information bar they have near at the top. I know that I have to edit the overall_header.tpl file, but I don't know where to add the html coding I would need to have this EXACTLY or close to the exact same as this site has it.
Can anyone help me with this? I already have the html coding I need, all I need to do is insert it into the overall_header.tpl file.

Here's a quick and dirty MOD that I created to add the exact same message from your link to your header. You will probably want to edit the message in the FIND command in this script. You can use EM to install this into your subSilver template. If you have alternative templates, the FIND may have to be adjusted to work in all of them. I can help you with that if necessary...

It looks like you are using Dreamweaver to edit your files. If so, it is adding double spacing to every file that you modify. That really messes things up. I am going to use UltraEdit to clean up your overall_header.tpl file...
You added the code at the top rather than under the logo.jpg section, so I moved it down for you. You also forgot to include the ending </td> tag as well. You need to remember that each table tag needs a begin and end tag or it may cause some weird display problems. I corrected that problem too...
Your message says that I'm viewing as a guest even though I'm logged in. You may want to adjust that a bit...

I use Areneae. Just this time I copied some of the source code for the header message of another website http://www.trancefix.nl/index.php?s=2ff7665121e60a38bf48794cee49d192 I just did the IE7 > View Source thing :p I will have to try and remember about the begin and ending tags though yes. I'll get there (I hope)

not my luck tonight  ... I used the code that you changed for the REPLACE WITH but I forgot to copy the coding for the FIND command and now the forum goes west when not logged in. The switching works though

What do I need to change in the FIND command so that the message appears under the logo 
I added the message code undereath the end tag for the image code as well! I guess the end tag doesn't come into it here, or is it something else *screams lol  |

Whatever you are using to edit your files, you should stop doing so now. I just fixed your overall_header.tpl file for the 3rd time today. Your text editor is adding double spacing throughout your code. It will really mess things up if you keep using it. Have you ever tried using 1st Page 2000???
