Hello Nightrider,
I copied my whole live board's file to a new domain womans.ws which my sister will run it hopefully once it's working fine. Now when i copied everything, changed the config.php file details as well and now after that it says at www.womans.ws
| Code:
|
phpBB : Critical Error
Could not query config information
DEBUG MODE
SQL Error : 1146 Table 'womans_1.phpbb_config' doesn't exist
SELECT * FROM phpbb_config
Line : 220
File : common.php
|
What should i do now? Do i need to PM her FTP login details or anything else i should do?
Btw, when i tried to click CODE BBcode button in your forum, it opens first [code] and at the ending it ends with [/youtube]
Hopefully both our problems will be fixed soon |

I'm not nightrider but hello anyway
Try this:
Goto phpmyadmin > database (the one your sister will be using) > table_config !!! And change the server name to www.womans.ws
Hopefully that will correct the problem... |

You were right. I forgot to edit config table as i did for my earlier forum but this time i made complete new database where there are no tables to edit! So than what to do. Because when i go to phpmyadmin and selects the emtpy database it says
womans_1 (0)
No tables found in database.

Oooooh... I thought you imported your database into your sister’s database hence why I said just change the domain server...
You can't just copy all the phpbb2 files/hacks used on your forum over onto your sister’s forum and expect it to run without using the same database that run your forum.... if you created a new database and installed a fresh installation of phpbb2 the board wouldn't function properly as many files will depend on one another.
I'd think you'd have to copy all of the files/hacks and import the database then edit the domain name. Also you'd need to delete all the forum categories etc etc so she could create her own...
This is just at a guess going by what I’ve learn from Nightrider though… |

I think you are right. You got really good knowledge. Even I copied once but that was from 1 server to another so I copied database easily. Now i think I will download my fresh backup of database and will upload on my sister's forum. Right NightRider ? Or any easy way to do ? |

Yep, you're on the right track. You have to populate the new database with all the tables that are needed for the forum software that you uploaded to your sister's site. If the site is running on your server, you can easily and quickly clone the Live database to the new one. Otherwise you need to Export the Live database, then import it back into your sister's database...

How should i export from my database to her. Because the server is different. And i don't know why I am always unable to download ACP database into zip but can download in .txt format and once Poomerio taught how to export database from phpMyAdmin but now i forgot and there also i was able to download only in .txt format instead of .zip/rar so i think it will take hrs n hrs to upload it after download because the current database of .txt file size is over 280 MB!!! |

If you are unable to get it to work with zipped, try gzipped or bzipped. If neither of those work, then you have to do it with None. If your sister doesn't need the data from your database, you can Export the structure only. Simply uncheck the Data option. That will export and import quickly. Of course you will need some of the data, but we can export individual tables, such as the phpbb_config table, separately...
phpMyAdmin - Exporting a Database
In phpMyAdmin, select your current Live database in the left panel:
Click on the Export tab in the right panel:
Make sure SQL is selected and you can press Select All to make sure all tables are included:
Then in SQL Options, you would want to make sure that the following are selected. You can also select Add Drop Table if there is a chance tha tthe tables in the destintation database already exist and you want to replace them...
Then at the bottom, make sure the Save as File and zipped or gzipped options are selected. Zipped doesn't work correctly in my phpMyAdmin setup, so you may have to play around with the settings until you find one that works for you...
Then press the Go button at the bottom right and your Database backup should start in a few moments. It may take a while to start if your database is large. It is possible that neither zipped nor gzipped will work, so you may be forced to use Noen for the compression, which would make the download file much, much larger...
Next you will be given the Save As window where you can select the Destination for the Exported database backup. Choose a destination that you can easily find and make sure there is enough space on the drive to handle the new backup file:

The average max upload size is normally around 52megs... and yours is 280MB
The djpassion.co.uk site has been up and running for well over a year and that database only sizes at 20MB |
