Hello Nightrider,
I have Moderator's Control Panel installed on my board which gives some more control to all my Moderators as well as Main MOD and support team member as you guided me to do some code modification which makes my Support team and Main MOD to enter Mod CP.
I trust my Main MOD and I would be very happy to give some more authority to my Main MOD through which he can make other normal member's the Moderator of any forum.
Is it possible to give such authority to my Main MOD ? |

The way the MOD is designed, when a moderator clicks on the Moderator Control Panel link, it goes into the modcp folder to find all the functionality available to the moderators. When an admin clicks on the Go to Administration Panel link, it goes into the admin folder for all the available functionality. So if the Main MOD can only use the Moderator Control Panel link, then none of the necessary functionality to do what you're asking is available to him/her since it is not stored in the modcp folder. If you choose to make it available, then it would also be available to all the other moderators too since there is no code to differentiate between the different ranks...
Unless you plan to allow the Main MOD to use the Go to Administration Panel link, I don't see any easy way to do what you are asking...

Ohh, so in this case I can't make it. But there is one way I think so. Do you remember in MODCP MOD you guided me to change the codes so that my support team member as well as Main MOD can enter and before only moderators were allowed to enter. So why not to change the codes and make only my Main MOD to enter that MOD CP area where only he can enter and can make other users mod. Because to me my main mod is more better than MODs and he is capable and trustworthy to be given that authority.
If this is possible, it would be great to see that function working. I just told him I will ask NightRider and will let you know |

Look in the modcp to see what functionality is available to your non-admin staff. All we did when we changed the code in the page_tail.php file is make it so that Main MOD could access the functionality in the modcp folder. But there isn't much of anything available there. Your Main MOD has access to everything stored in the modcp folder, which doesn't include the functionality to promote members to admin status...

Oh yeah. If he is given the authority to make a normal member a moderator than at the same page there is function to make a normal member an ADMIN
OoOps. Than I think I will stick to what it is currently now |

If you trust him/her enough, you could give them permission to see the ACP instead...

Ok, if you can't trust them with the ACP functionality, then there's not much that can be done. We could probably copy additional functionality to the modcp folder, but all of your staff would be able to use it too, not just the Main MOD...

What If we remove the codes from the MODCP MOD that moderators as well as support team member cannot enter MOD CP, like the other day we added the code so that support team member and main mod can enter so now we can make it opposite. Possible
If not, not necessary. We can just leave this matter It's alright. |

Yes, you can adjust the code in the page_tail.php file so that ONLY the Main MOD can enter the MCP. That's not a problem if that is what you really want...
