Nightrider can you try and get this working on my forum for me please?

I've tried loads of times but i just can't get it to work as its supposed to Sad

Btw I've set up a folder on my host for you which you can use for space. You can put whatever you want on there. Little something for all your help. headbang

It's there if you want to use it anyway. Folder is named NR in /htdocs

I've got unlimited space etc with streamline so it's all good. blob8

I have easily installed Topic Description 1.15.2b MOD on my board without any problem through EM so If i can help you in installing it. What's the errors you are facing ?

Chris, do you have the forum back to running normally again? I don't think we should be adding anything until the problem that you PM'd me about has been resolved...

Yeah, I think I've sorted the problems I had with the mods on the forum. By chance I just managed to get all the mods working properly. Didn't really know what I was doing but whatever I did it worked HAHA! Good job.

One thing I couldn't do though is the description mod. Because sql queries have already been made and files have been edited I wasn't able to get the mod back to its original state. So now all the rest of the forum is fine, well apart from the template colours you adjusted for me but I'm going to stay with the default phpbb2 colours as is saves me time having to change the template colours again for a mod to match up with the rest of the forum all the time. Going by how long it took to change the links page one anyway. Remember? I couldn't have worked that out. I'm not going to ask you how to match colours up for a mod every time I install one.

But yeah, so basically now I have the description mods half installed but no matter what I do I cannot get all of the features of the mod to work properly.

I tell you what if you try and install the mod using EM you'll see the errors like I did, you correct them and then the mod is installed. But once installed your not able to view forum categories, threads or posts due to a problem with the mod (I think). And also when you hover over a thread a popup window is meant to appear but it doesn't...

Either way though I'd like the mod to either work properly or just have it completely removed from the forum headbang

I just found that the Topic description is currently installed in at least some of your files. So I can't continue with the MOD install until the old code is removed. I'm heading out and won't be back for several hours, so this will have to wait until I return home...

Ok, I cleaned up your files and reinstalled the Topic Description MOD. But it still wasn't displaying. So after wading through the code, I discovered that the MOD author failed to update the Permissions in the new fields in your phpbb_forums table. But that wasn't correctly reflected in Forum Permissions in your ACP, so there may be a bug there. After resetting the new permissions, which by default were all set to off, and after setting the Allow Descriptions setting in your phpbb_config table, which also by default was set to false, the new Description field is properly displaying on your forum...

I’m going to try and put this on the djpassions one. It should go on ok because it will be a fresh installallation headbang

I mean what I say about the hosting space though NR. Use it to mods on there or whatever if you want m8.

It installed on the djpassions forums with EM straight away without any errors. headbang
