[Solved] my site is playing up *crys

When I try to connect I keep getting this error

I'm not sure whether it's the mysql server or that file or what but I’m guessing it's the mysql server because sometimes the site loads without that error message  dontknow

This sounds like a problem with your database server.  If the code can't connect to your database server, it can't retrieve anything in order to display the forum.  Normally we see a different error message though when this happens...

I'm taking off for the evening, so hopefully by the time I get back, the problem will have gone away...

Yeah it must have been a problem with streamline going by the server status
